Why be moody when you can drink a smoothie?!”

I have fallen in love with my Nutribullet again. I know that sounds weird but honestly, it is true! It all started a few weeks ago when I threw together a few simple ingredients to make a smoothie and after that, I’ve been hooked. They are delicious, full of nutrition and the best part is they only take a few minutes to make when I am in a rush to get to class. Who doesn’t like a good smoothie? No one right!

So with all these fruity, healthy, and energizing smoothie recipes in my head, I thought why not write them down for all of you. The best part is you also get to see one of my blogger friends Sophia and her favourtie recipes. That thought lead us here to share a few of our favourite recipes with you. Oh and we can not forget the health benefits that come along with these smoothies, so ill be sharing that too. Now get your blender, choose one of these amazing smoothies and give it a try.

Now let’s learn a little bit about what each smoothie is packed full of. This might make picking one a little easier. Then when you try one let me know what you think in the comments below!! Or share one of your favourite smoothie recipes with me so I can try it out!

|| Sunny Citrus ||

1 Carrot (chopped)
1/2 Orange
1 cup Mango (frozen)
1/2 cup strawberries (frozen)
1.5 cups water or coconut water
a pinch of fresh ginger (optional)

I know carrot may seem a little odd but trust me on this one. This is the perfect sunny, summery smoothie to get you up and energized in the morning. It is loaded with vitamin c, full of natural citrus and will have you coming back for another in no time. It boosts your immune system, helps with weight loss and improves sight. How can you go wrong with all of those added benefits?! P.S. *I would have had a picture but I drank it oops*

|| Green Detox ||

1/2 avocado
1 cup spinach
1/2 banana (frozen)
1/4 cucumber
1/2 apple
1.5 cups coconut milk or water

For all of you who shy away from green smoothies, this is the green smoothie that will have you hooked! It has a very light, mild taste, is as refreshing a tall cold glass of cucumber water but with added benefits. The healthy fats of the avocado help protect against heart disease and can clear skin. The banana and cucumber calms the tummy and increases metabolism.

|| Berry Blue ||

2 tbsp oats
1 cup spinach
1 banana
1 cup blueberries (frozen)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder ( I use Vega)
1.5 cup almond milk

If you haven’t seen the true color of blueberries you sure will with this smoothie, it is a beautiful, bright purple. The purple drink, on the other hand, offers so many more nutrients than the conventional one. Blueberries are packed full of antioxidants and have been said to reduce wrinkles and aid in bone development too.

| Sophia’s Favourites |

Here are a few of my fellow blogger friend Sophia’s Favorites. Smoothies are one of the best things to have ever been invented! If you’re anything like me you may forget to have your 5-a-day or you’re craving that mango but the mess just isn’t worth it. Well, that’s where smoothies come in for me and that is why I love them… All measurements can be changed to fit you! I tend to go big with the fruits so it lasts me a couple of days but be sure to fit your tastes and wishes!

|| A Taste Of Autumn |

It’s called Autumn simply because of the colours of these fruits. A lot of reds and oranges. Be very generous with the juice so that you get a very smooth consistency. Hence the word “smoothie”.

2 Beetroot
5 Strawberries
A whole tin of pineapple chunks
50g Oats
1 Apple
Cranberry juice

|| Call It Spring ||

It’s just around the corner so I chose some fruits that I don’t usually use but are very good for the soul!

Handful of blueberries
2 bananas
1/2 Melon
Handful of blackberries
Fill up with Orange or Pineapple juice.

|| Sipping On Summer ||

The fun one! This should keep you energized for the day.

1 whole mango
1 whole orange
1/2  grapefruit
1 whole peach
1 whole apricot (or papaya if you wish!)
Fill up with orange juice

|| Wishing Of Winter ||

This should keep you full and well for the chilly days. You could add some oats too!

1 plum
A handful of blueberries
5 strawberries
2 bananas
Fill up with milk or any juice of your choice!
