Well, a year has come and gone and in that time I have learned more than I thought I could and have grown not only into a mother or a wife but I have grown into myself. The version of me that has been waiting in the background through school and I am finally here. And although a leap like this one has been uncomfortable it has also been one of the best things that could have come along.
I am a believer that “everything happens for a reason” regardless of how good or bad that thing may be! A true the-cup-is-half-full type of person! So when this opportunity arose and the meeting with the bank all worked out I knew it was something I had to do. And I am so so SO happy and proud to call myself a business owner. What business you may ask? Grey Birch Baby a natural wood and silicone teether/ baby accessory business.
I almost backed out a few times as I thought to myself, “what if I fail?” “what if no one whats to buy from me?” “what if I can’t do it?”. But with the overwhelming support from my Husband, Best Friend and my other friends and family I took the leap of faith. And that brings us here to this new chapter! A chapter that I will have to work hard on and push through all my negative thoughts, in the hopes of bringing you products you will love!
So with that being said, I thought I’d share with you why I am starting this business, what my hopes are for it and show you where you can follow along through this next chapter in my life.
|| Why I’m Starting Grey Birch Baby ||
I am not starting this business because I want to make millions or become the next big name in the baby industry (although it would be very nice). I am starting it for a much simpler reason, a reason that a lot of mamas will relate to. I want to be able to spend quality time with my family and not fight for time off with other co-workers. I want to be able to volunteer in the classroom when that time comes, make it to each rehearsal, or sports game they may have regardless of the time of day. And with a typical 9-5 job I just don’t see that happening.
I also want to love what I do and what I love doing, is creating. Whether it is staging fun photos, sharing blog posts (just like this one) with all you or making the things I will be selling such as teethers and rattles. I want to be creating. So this little side hustle will allow me to do just that, create and be creative. And hopefully, with all your help I can grow it into more than just a little side hustle. Maybe one day it will be a full-on baby boutique bringing you all the amazing little things that mamas like myself make!
So with all that being said, I can not wait to share this next chapter with you and I hope you are all just as excited as I am about the launch of Grey Birch Baby.
