It is that time of the pregnancy again. Time to get ready and be prepared to head to the hospital whenever the baby says. And after having Greyson I know just how important a well-packed hospital bag is because you don’t want to forget your toothbrush or worse something more important.

So I thought why not share with you everything I am packing in my hospital bag to be prepared for my second birth. Somethings I learned are must-haves that you might want to put in your bag and some things are just simple needs. So give my list a read and see just what’s inside my packed.

|| What I am Packing In My Hospital Bag | |

Depending on if this is your first birth or fifth birth you will have an idea of how much you want to pack. Also depending on how far away you live from the hospital will help you determine what you need and want to bring. Plus you can always have some extra stuff stashed in your vehicle instead of lugging everything into the room. There is nothing wrong with being well prepared because, in the end, you want to be comfortable! So let us dive in!

| Mama’s Musts |

Toiletries Bag
There is no better feeling than taking a little break and having a shower after having your baby so make sure you bring your travel-size toiletries. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, moisturizer, toothbrush, toothpaste, face scrub, deodorant.
Water Bottle
I had one with a flip-up straw making it easy to drink from no matter what was happening and I was never worried about spilling. Plus it makes it easy for one-hand drinking when busy with baby or breastfeeding.
Chapstick
Sound like a silly must-have but let me tell you it is something you won’t know you NEED until you realize you don’t have any. So make sure you pack some hydrating lip chap.
Robe & Clothing
I never brought a light rode for my delivery with Greyson so I know that it is a must this time around. It will be nice to have something to keep me warm and be easy to nurse in. Plus they look adorable in photos compared to a hospital gown.
Scrunchies & Hair Tyes
Pads & Perinuim Spray
I can not stress bringing your own enough!! Yes, the hospital provides you with some but they are not the most comfortable, so find out what ones work for you and bring some with you. Also, make sure you have lots for home. And you might want to have some padsicles made for home too! πŸ˜‰ click here to see why they rock!
Clothing
You do not need much but you will want it to be comfy so think simple casual and if you are breastfeeding like me nursing friendly. So leggings, a simple top or a dress, pj’s, a sweater or cardigan, underwear, socks, and a robe will do you perfect.
Snacks
You do not have to go crazy but having a few little snacks on hand like granola bars, soda crackers or happy planets smoothies are a great way to kick the hunger while you get some real food.
Nipple Pads
I am using reusable ones that I used when I breastfed Greyson because they work amazing and are super absorbent. They are from amazon and you can find them HERE.

Burp Cloths
Clothing
Keep it simple with a going home outfit, some sleepers, scratch mitts, a hat, and socks.
Diapers & Wipes
Yes, the hospital provides diapers but it is always good to have extra on hand so you are not calling the nurses all the time.
Carseat & Cover
Pacifiers & Paci Clip

No judgment, please! We used one with Greyson and it was a LIFESAVER so we are using one again. I would make sure to bring a few with different nipple styles because you never know what baby will like.
Swaddle Blanket

| Dad’s Musts |

I kept it simple with what to pack for Dad because it was easy for Jeremy to come and go if he needed something and it cuts down on what you are packing.
Snacks & Water Bottle
Extra Clothing
Simple Toiletries

| Other Things To Bring |

Ipad
Chargers
Headphones
Book & Baby Book
Camera

Photo Props (if wanted/needed)

And that is all! I know it seems like a lot but there is nothing worse than going to reach for something and not having it. So be safe instead of sorry. If you think there is something that I missed or something that I should add then let me know. I am always opening to suggestions and wisdom from other moms or moms-to-be.

On that note do not forget to tune into my social sites like instagram and facebook to see just when baby 2 is born. And to find out if it is a boy or girl with us! Until then keep smiling and stay happy!

xoxo, Taylor
