Our sweet baby girl, Emberly Ella Cole arrived quickly on Sunday, June 21st at 2:29 am. The best father’s day present that I could have given Jeremy if you ask me. She weighed 6 lbs 11 oz, only 1 oz more than Greyson weighed when he was born. I’d tell you the whole birth story but we will save that for another post.

Meeting His Little Sister

Awaiting her arrival I was anxious and scared that Greyson would react negatively with crying and jealously. But to my surprise, he took the announcement and meeting his little sister with a big smile and excitement that could barely be contained as he repeated “baby” over and over. And now every morning he asks about her and looks for her in the bassinet. He gets concerned when she cries and wants so badly to dance with her. Now it hasn’t been all sunshine and smiles. Greyson has had some hard days, shed some tears, and thrown some tantrums but he is adjusting just wonderfully.

Emberly’s First Weeks

As for Emberly, she is our quiet little girl who sleeps through all her brother’s loud racket. She barely makes a cry which is far different from how Greyson was as a baby. She latches well and has passed her birth weight and is now weighing 7 lbs 1oz. So it is safe to say she is a good little eater.

As for sleep she is doing well, we have had a few long nights thanks to cluster feeding and gassy tummies. But other than those few nights she is doing great sleeping in her bassinet all swaddled up. Or if we are both needing a longer stretch she will sleep snuggled up beside me in bed. And best yet she slept 1 five hour stretch that was so so needed for this mama!

Overall we have all been adjusting great to having another little one in the house. Although our schedule is out the window I still try to get outside at least once a day with Greyson and allow him to run around and have fun. Eventually, we will be back to our same old ways but I know the newborn snuggles, sleepy eyes, and milk drunk smiles will not last forever so I am soaking them in.

If you want to see more of our sweet girl and all things baby follow me on my social sites. Until then stay happy!

Xoxo, Taylor
