Ahh bedtime, possibly the best time of the day. The time where I finally get to take a break relax and enjoy a few hours of me-time. But before bed and a good night’s sleep for our littles is the bedtime routine. It isn’t crazy and doesn’t involve any jumping through hoops it is simple. And the simple set routine helps Greyson and Emberly wind down and prepare for a good nights rest.

Personally, a solid bedtime routine that we stick to each night has proven to help Greyson and Emberly have a better night’s sleep. And a good night’s sleep for them means and better nights sleep for Jeremy and me.

| Our Bedtime Routine For A Better Nights Sleep |

Our routine starts with some wind-down time, turning off the tv, and hoping in the bath (if it is a bath night). Many kids do even better at bedtime if there is no screen time at least 1 hour before getting ready for bed.

After a bath, it is time to dry off, get jammied up, and put on a clean diaper. This is when we take vitamins such a vitamin D for both littles and probiotics for Emberly. Then we apply lotion and have a little massage. This tends to help with relaxation and tummy trouble.

After that, it is time to brush teeth with our bamboo toothbrushes by Gondola which is one of Greyson’s favorite things to do right now. Next, it is storytime! We have been reading 2 books before bed since Greyson was 2 months old and he absolutely loves it. He even knows certain words to some of his favorite books.

Then it is lights out. But before that is hugs and kisses then a “tuck tuck” as Greyson calls it. We have been following this routine for quite some time and it works like a charm. Most night Greyson falls asleep well within 30 minutes and sleeps at least a 10-11 hour stretch.

That sums up our bedtime routine, short, sweet, and simple. What does your bedtime routine look like? Let me know in the comments or on my Instagram. Remember don’t let the bed bugs bite and stay tuned for my next post soon.

xoxo, Taylor
