Easter is that time of year that I love, love love. Here in the north it means the snow is starting to melt, the sun is shining and it means planting season is around the corner! Plus now that Greyson is old enough I get to put together a little basket full of goodies for him.

I am sure you have seen perfectly curated, colour matching, overflowing Easter baskets all over Pinterest and Instagram. But do not fear Easter baskets do not have to be that way, there is nothing wrong with keeping it simple and filling your child’s basket full of fun DIY projects and practical items your little ones really need.

| Some Simple Ideas |
  • Homemade Playdough I used this recipe from I Heart Naptime
  • Rainboots + Rain Suite
  • Squeeze Pouch – Make your own or try a pre-made one from the grocery store
  • Coconut Bunny Nest Cookies – Make them with the kids a few days before with this recipe HERE
  • Magnetic Fishing Game – This one is fun for all a super simple, use fabric or felt to make some fish, add some paper clips then make a fishing rod with a magnet on the end
  • Colouring Book – If you don’t want to buy one print out a few colouring & activity pages, string them together. Find colouring pages HERE
  • Handheld Crayons– This is an activity you can do with the kids too. Melt down old crayons into fun shapes with this tutorial HERE.
  • Book
  • Salt Dough Decorations – Make some salt dough easter eggs and paint them easter day! Super fun and easy. Follow this recipe HERE.

Easter baskets do not have to be stuffed with tons of store-bought things, sometimes homemade gifts are even better. To make all these little DIY projects look a little more dressed up put them in a jar, add a little ribbon and a gift tag. It is that simple! And the best part is you get to have fun with it all too.

I hope you enjoyed all these little ideas. If you want to see more in-depth DIY projects like this than follow me on Instagram and Facebook. My stories are always packed with fun crafts, recipes and of course smiling and giggling Greyson.

xoxo, Taylor
