Ah 2024! This year will mark nine years since I graduated high school, that is crazy! 7 years since I started this blog, wow I need to take it more seriously. Six years since I got my Associates Degree and we welcomed Greyson to the world. Five years of marriage to the most amazing man. Four years since I became a mom again to Emberly and bought our first home. And our newest little bundle, Hazel, will be one. Those timelines are wild to think about because all of it seems like a moment ago they took place, not months and years ago. What milestones of yours make you say wow?
Now let us look ahead. 2023 I had high hops of sticking to my words of the year but that did NOT happen. School felt like it consumed me then transitioning into fulltime work while pregnant and with 2 children left me very little time for me to focus aspect of our family life and me that I wanted to. I felt like I was constantly playing catch up and that every step forward was followed by 3 steps back. Maybe it’s a motherhood thing or maybe it’s my perfectionist personality, who knows but I am done with it! I am owning that feeling of being in a rut and moving on.
For 2024 I would like to focus on what really brings me joy in the little mundane daily tasks and allow myself to feel that joy and happiness. So here are my words for 2024.
Simplicity, Nourish, Flourish.
Simplify my thinking and my doings. I am always so focused on doing it all the “right way”. That type of mentality is not serving me any good. It gets in the way of me doing things like posting to my blog, doing projects and so much more.
Nourish my mind, body and soul by learning something new. Allow myself to be good or bad at it and continue to find a new hobby that isn’t child related since my career and life both revolve around children.
Flourish, this was one of my words in 2022 and I loved it. I love the meaning and the visual of a blooming flower it gives me when I say and think of it. That is how life is a blooming flower. It takes time, love and sunshine to grow a strong plant. But you have to keep loving and feeding it for it to bloom and grow stronger.
Now that you know some of my words, let’s here some of yours!
