Heather Grey and White Striped Tunic – Pink Blush

The time has finally come for me to step away from work and focus on preparing our lives and our home for our baby. Most of the moms and mom bloggers refer to this as ‘nesting’. That time where you start putting everything together, make the last purchases and prepare the home for the baby. So I guess that means I am about to start nesting! But that is not the only thing on my maternity agenda, I have a few things that I want to do over the next year of maternity leave. So I am sharing those goals with you today.

| Let The Nesting Begin |

First things first, I am starting my maternity leave by getting some nesting done. Starting with the house since it is still in the reno phase I am picking out paint, the kitchen layout, and I am planning the nursery. I already have the colour scheme picked out for the house and the nursery. Can you guess what colours I have chosen? If you guessed grey, white, and espresso brown than you are right! This girl likes what she likes, I can’t help it, don’t judge!

For the babies room, there will be pops of blue and natural tones to match the woodland theme I chose. All the furniture is white to keep the small space we have looking clean, bright, and open. The pops of colour will be added with the bedding, decorations, and pictures. Oh, and of course with a few of the DIY projects that I made. I made a growth board, shelf, mobile and I am about to start a quilt for him too. You can definitely see I will be keeping busy for my maternity leave!

The second objective on my maternity checklist is getting some of my schooling done. It has always been a dream of mine to become a teacher and I am determined that one day I will. In fact, I have come up with a plan of action to get it done. With the help of family and my friends I should be able to finish the last year of my degree in no time and get my teaching degree in about 4 years. I know it won’t be easy but what in life ever is, am I right? I just have to keep pushing through it all!

Although, when I say nose to the books I don’t only mean school books I also meaning reading to just read. I used to read all the time but have fallen off the reading circle and I want to start again. So ladies… What books are you reading? What books are you loving or hating? And most important, what book should I pick up next?

Third on the list is putting my wedding planning into action! I have so many ideas in my mind and I can not wait to see it all in front of me. Last year I saved anything and everything I loved to a Pinterest board and this year I finally get to start all my DIY projects. We are finding the best ways to keep it within our budget and so far it is looking good. I have the colours selected: burgundy, blush, and navy blue with pops of tweed and rustic decor. It is going to look beautiful! I can not wait to finally say “I do” to the love of my life.
