I am so excited to finally be able to share the big news and let secret number two out of the bag! We are moving! Yup, that is right. But where are we moving to? Well, let me tell you because…

I have had to keep this secret in for far too long, it was eating me alive. I hated keeping it from all of you lovelies! But the time has come and I can finally share it with you! We are moving back to to the comfort of our hometown, Smithers British Columbia.

Now, now I know what you are thinking, “Why are you moving back there?” That is just the reaction and question we always get asked when we tell people our big plan. Why would you want to leave Kelowna and go back to Smithers? Well, the answer is simple for us… Friends, Family, and a place to call our own.

So, that is why we have made the big decision to pack up our house and move back to our beautiful little hometown. Because in the big picture what matters most is what is right for us and our little bundle of joy we have on the way. And if we are being honest here Kelowna is way too expensive!

| Let’s Go Back To The Begining |

Just about two years ago I made the decision to head to school and follow my passion for teaching children. So I applied and was accepted into the Okanagan College Associates Degree Program and was on my way to becoming a Kindergarten teacher. With this meant moving and not a small move but a big move! When I told Jeremy the plans I had he was beside me all the way and decided that we would go together! The move wasn’t easy but we made it work, found a nice place to live, and have been there ever since. Although it did entail going through a few roommates, stressful exams, and missing family events.

Flash forward two years and here we are! Jeremy now a red seal carpenter. Me graduating with my Associate’s Degree. Engaged and planning the wedding of my dreams. And best of all we will soon be welcoming baby number one to the world. Life is about to change in so many wonderful ways! And although we have grown to love the hustle and bustle of Kelowna, not to mention the wide range of actives and delicious food choices. For us moving back to Smithers just makes sense!

Plus I am ready to turn our house into a home! Because in the three years that we have been together we have never lived without a roommate!! And this girl is ready for some privacy. Don’t get me wrong all our roommate were wonderful but I am tired of having to share and Jeremy is too.

Because this was a big, quick change it got us thinking. Do we rent or buy? At first, we said buy, buy, buy, but with the lack of options and the clock ticking away before we have to move we decided to rent. And I must say an adorable little house came up just in time too! The best part is that it is finally somewhere we can call our own! Well for the meantime that is 😉  Plus with a little TLC and minor renovations it will check off all of our requirements in a home. Close to downtown, a big yard, two bedrooms, open and bright. It will be wonderful! I am ready to start our family, build a place we can finally call home and get married to the love of my life.

So with that being said stay tuned to what life has in store for us. And don’t forget to follow along with the big move, renovations and the DIY projects to come. Because I have lots of projects planned from a deck revamp to a woodland nursery design and much much more! And if you want to see what house inspo I am in love with right now take a look below! Hint hint, it may or may not follow the farmhouse theme! I know it will not look the same but a girl can dream!
